In the former Stallion Studs of the Potocki family in Albigowa you can see Arabian horses. Alfred Potocki III established the stud in Albigowa. But it was with Thoroughbreds that Albigowa initially made its mark, breeding the Derby winners Esson and Impet II. In the interwar period the stud in Albigowa was one of the best in private hands. Horses from Albigowa won a lot of races taking a leading position in the winnings value of stakes. In 1956 the most famous Arabian Stallion Champion of champions – Bask – was born here.
Horses for the army
Yearling horses from Albigowa were taken to the army by general Anders (the later commander of Polish Army during World War II). He had his own private racing stable in Albigowa.
